A new business with no marketing budget.

James launched Particle Execution in December 2024 after leaving his previous business. He had no marketing budget and no personal runway to put toward one.

He had around 15,000 LinkedIn followers from previous work, but the audience wasn't producing pipeline. He'd been running automated LinkedIn outreach for years, and the replies he was used to getting were "no, not interested, stop messaging."

He ignored 95% of the system on purpose.

James joined Growth Garden in January 2025 and skipped most of it. No automations. No retargeting. No lead scoring. No email nurture. Not on day one. There was no point building the rest of the system until lead magnets were actually pulling people in.

In his words: "Where does the Growth Garden flow start? It starts with the lead magnet. So I was going to ignore the rest. As soon as I cracked that, I could follow the rest."

01 /
One or two lead magnets per week, every week. Built manually, following Harald's playbook. His first one took six hours; by March they were taking under an hour.
02 /
Rewrote his LinkedIn outbound entirely. He stopped pitching in DMs and started sending the relevant lead magnet with a short, useful note. He closed his first deals from LinkedIn outbound that year.
03 /
Built on topical news. When ChatGPT-5 launched, he shipped 50 prompts for it within the same week. When Hormozi broke a book-sales record, he reverse-engineered the funnel and published the teardown days later.
04 /
Built the rest of the engine later. Database, email nurture, lead scoring. All installed once the lead magnets were producing enough volume to feed them.

From cold messages to a $90K contract in eight months.

He cracked the front of the funnel first.

Most founders install the automations and the retargeting and the email flows first, then try to write content that fits the system. James went in the opposite order. He made lead magnets people actually wanted, then let everything downstream feed off the demand they created.

There was a bigger shift underneath all of this. James used to design lead magnets around what he sold. Harald's playbook flipped that. He started designing them around a pain his ICP would recognize the moment they saw the title. That instinct now applies to every campaign he runs.

"

Working alongside Harald to implement all of this was the single biggest, best decision I made in 2025.

A note on timing

James worked with us as Growth Garden, before the BURO platform existed. Every lead magnet, every landing page, every outbound message was built by hand.

The $90,000 contract, the viral content, the 11,000 new followers. All of it came from manual execution of the same methodology BURO now automates. What he eventually ran into, in his own words, was that as his business scaled he couldn't keep the cadence and his team couldn't replicate the quality. That bottleneck is what the BURO platform and DFY package were built to remove.
